Knowingly or not, the kitchen is the most visited area residents. From adults to children. This should make us more aware of the importance of safety in the kitchen. Maybe some of you will not believe, if someone says that accidents are relatively common in the home in the kitchen. This type of accident can be a slip, etched sharp objects, to electric shock. One source of accidents in the kitchen is the placement of the items are not careful.
Well, four things below may be considered for a safe kitchen:
- Place the sharps and breakables out of reach of children. Immediately store knives and other sharp objects, after use. Make sure you give the child understanding that the knives and glassware instead of toys.
- Children also need to be protected from the kitchen tools that may generate heat. Stove, oven, rice cooker, and so on. You also do not forget to wear heat resistant gloves, before lifting pan or frying pan from the stove.
- Avoid placing the stove near the window. Moreover, if the window is decorated with long curtains. Put stove here, increasing the risk of fire. Stove fire could easily ignite curtains end. Wind can also turn off the burner, thus making the gas blown out of control, so potentially a fire.
- Do not place furniture electronics adjacent to the sink. As we know, water is a good conductor of electricity. Splash water on the cable that may peel can cause a short circuit. Worse yet, you could be an electric shock when touching the wires.
